The Process:
- Find a video or image to use as a background, either will work (preferably high resolution)
- Place the composition into aftereffects (use the image's resolution as composition dimensions)
- Create a matte around what areas of the image/video you want to be in front of the VFX (You do this by creating a new solid layer, using the pen tool to draw around the area, then alpha revert the matte)After interlaying the VFX and mattes, the final product will appear as a real explosion has taken place
