Quarter Review Of E-communication In Video

During the time spent in the video branch of E-communication, I have learned a lot ranging from setting up a camera properly to editing, filming, and getting different angles and views for each and every shot. I especially loved the chase scene due to its fun and exciting scenes and moving around the school while capturing the six shot sequence. However, going outside to film wasn't the only fun thing about the chase scene. It had an aspect to it that made the filming of it and watching the action and the film come to life had a very lively element in it. But the chase scene wasn't the only project that I had enjoyed. The AB sequence was also very entertaining. The only thing that I didn't enjoy during the entire process of video was the part that I didn't have many people to converse with. If I had a few friends in my group or someone to talk to this entire video quarter would've been a lot more fun for me. But besides that, I enjoyed the video part of E-comm.

Website Review

The website project was at times really simple and easy but at other times there were troubles that weren't explained. The website project wasn't too entertaining and could've been better at times. Some questions I had over the project were, why was this project? Web design doesn't really fall into the video category. However, I enjoyed the final result of the project. It came out clean and easy to navigate and mess around with the page.

Chase Scene Questions

During this project I learned how to moving from one place to another quicker and still make sense. The chase project also helped me understand how to use different shots and different viewing points. Some things I will apply to my next project is making sure we get cleaner shots and clearer shots.

Collaboration is when a group of people work together to produce something. Our group used collaboration in the chase scene project because we each had a role in producing the chase scene. I drew up the story board. For the rest of the group we had two actors and one camera man. I can improve collaboration by making sure we get clear and exact shots as our story board.

AB Sequence Questions

AB Sequence:

During the AB Sequence project I learned how to move from one place to another with two six-shot sequences and how to make the transition from one place to the other in a quicker fashion and how to do so in a less boring and more entertaining way. I also learned how to use sound effects efficiently and also in an entertaining way. Sounds and music make the video much more entertaining and fun. After this project, I can take the skills from making transitions less boring but still make sense. I will apply these skills by creating videos with a more entertaining and time saving fashion.
Collaboration: The action of making with someone to produce something. This applied to our group and our projects because we all worked together either as camera men or as actors. But together, we helped each other create each others projects but together, create works of art.

6 Shot Sequence

6 Shot Sequence:
Extra Wide Shot: Sets the scene including the character but the scene is the priority and the character is small compared to the shot.
Wide Shot: Head to toe shot of the character.
Extra Close Up: Shot of the character's hands to show what they are doing.
Close Up: Head shot and the purpose is to show the character's expression.
Medium Shot: Hip/waist up to show an action.
Over The Shoulder: Shot directly over the character's shoulder to show what they are doing or what they have done.

Over the course of the 6 Shot Sequence, I have learned how to express a video in a less boring and in many different views, showing the action and the video but without boring the viewer. I also learned how to use each of the 6 shots to express different actions. Applying these 6 shots can help me create a more exciting scene instead of a one shot sequence through out the video.

Ng B Highlight Video

Some tools I used in Final Cut Pro includes the blade (Command B), position, selection, track selection, zoom, cropping, open library (Command O), Undo (Command Z), Redo (Shift-Command Z), and fixing the time line (Shift S).

I chose to do a Psych Highlight video because watching the highly popular tv series, "Psych," brings many memories back. Whenever I watch Psych, it's like a key to my past. The highlight video revolves around Psych because during my middle school years I use to always watch Psych after school. Whenever I watch it now, it triggers memories from my 3 years in middle school. I came to Northwest instead of East to pursue a dream. Leaving behind my friends and classmates I came to northwest. Creating a Psych highlight video let me, in a way, relive my past where I was once again, surrounded by friends. Choosing this idea is very important to me because the tv series is the only way, besides social media, to reconnect with my friends and for me to not lose touch with them in my mind.

E-comm Quater One Works

Google Sketch-up Dream House

Google Sketch-up:

The things I liked about my house is that it turned out exactly the way I wanted it to be. I had to restart due to not being able to find my house again, but the new version turned out 10 times better than what it could've been. One major thing I like about my house is that the front turned out really nice and better than I could've imagined.
Another large factor in that are the cars and fountain in the front of my house. I really liked how it added to the rich aspect of it. I also liked how my house was placed/created. Putting it on an island surrounded by water made the house more presentable than putting it among something like a neighborhood.
This project relates to E-comm because of the actual working of the project. Using Google Sketch-up helps create and utalize the ability to work with models and create models. Google Sketch-up can relate to many aspects of the E-comm field.

My Personality Type

My personality type is ISFP and ESFP.  ISFP means that they are quiet, friendly, sensitive, and kind. They enjoy the present moment and don't worry about the future as much as the present. Working by myself and on my own time scale is also part of the ISFP type. ISFP also means that you stay committed and loyal to friends, beliefs, and values to themselves. People with ISFP also don't force their beliefs onto other people. ESFP means that people are very lively and enthusiastic. They are also very down-to-earth and very practical. They are also caring and responsible. I share the same traits with President John F. Kennedy(ESFP) and Jonathan Ive(ISFP).

I think these traits describe me fairly well. The points that are "Right On" are probably the quiet part. The point that I don't think describes me is worrying only about the present and not the future. I tend to lean toward worrying about the present, but still put a fair bit of thought into the future. These traits don't really help me find out more about why I lean to ideas over others.

The traits did explain why I act the way I do in a group or in a family or team situation. If the role and group matches up, I would be able to theoretically fit in and be more active in that group. If it doesn't, then the entire group will not only be awkward but also nothing would run correctly.

I think people would misunderstand me because I am a very quiet person and some may interpret that as "I don't want to talk to you" or "I don't like you." I have trouble communicating with my grandmother and she might think that I don't like spending time with her or even that I don't like her.
